Now is the Perfect Time.
I know, I know, I know.
I get it because I grew up in the hustle culture, too. We’re supposed to show up, flawlessly with armor on and get everything done. On time. And without question. We put all the things and all the people ahead of ourselves.
And why? Well, cuz it’s the narrative that’s been told every damn time.
We’re the Black women who have our shit together. We’re reliable. We’re hard working. We keep our mouths shut and our brains on and we just do the thing.
For everyone else.
And then what about you? What about us? What about the passions that feed joy into ourselves? What happens to that?
I’ll tell you what happens: It gets shoved off to the side. It piles in our brains. And we tell ourselves that we’ll go paint. Or dance. Or start up an event planning business. When the time is right.
That’s some Class A bullshit.
There’s no right time. You can’t wait for the storm to calm. Because once one wave is gone, there’s always another on the horizon.
NOW is the time. For you to stand up and say to the world (yeah, including yourself)
“I’m setting the time aside for me.” Because you deserve joy and fun and the kind of sistership that can support that journey through the highs and lows and all the damn inbetweens.
Now’s the damn time.
The Sisterhood to Show up Raw.
You’ve got your thick and thin girlfriends who will be there when you’re so down you’re scraping your knees. You’ve got your spouse who will give you a hug when you’re unsure and encourage you to drop whatever it is that can be cut (which, let’s face it. You ain’t cutting out what your fam needs you for or what work requires. That’s called necessities.) You’ve got your colleagues who… okay. Might be more like the old white dudes who would prefer if you kept your passions behind a mask forever.
It’s time to strip the f*cking filters
The thing is, with all these people… you’ve got a filter on your conversations. You can’t just show up as is, sharing the ups and downs and all around. You have to keep up appearances one way or another or the person next to you is gonna dip out.
We don’t do that shit here.
We welcome the hard-to-have conversations. We are cool with you bringing your shit. We ain’t gonna leave you because we know you’re in it with the intention of not leaving us, too.
We also don’t give a f*ck about how much money is in your pocket.
We’re not gatekeeping your experiences simply because you don’t check off a damn box. If you’re a Melanin Maverick looking for real rich connection. This. Is. For. You. Period.
This is the community. The enrichment. The sisterhood. Where you can strip off those filters and show up. All shit included. So we can get you to your passions. And start living your legacy today.

I don’t like the word empowerment. It’s overused and overdone, and quite frankly… I’m over it.
I learned a long time ago that I can’t be in the business of empowering anyone. That would mean I’d be giving you everything you needed to bump up to whatever level and leave everything else behind in a shitty dust cloud.
Hell, at least that’s what it feels like.
No, I’m about enrichment instead.
The thing is this world wants us to believe that we’re on this planet to keep climbing whatever f*cking ladder is in front of us until we reach the top. And there never is a top. It’s always growing and getting bigger and we never, ever figure out how to stop.
Stop moving, stop doing, stop going, stop hustling.
But what I realized is, this world isn’t about that. It’s about enriching your life.
Through experiences. And friendships. And active listening.
And PASSION.
And lemme tell ya, when you have a friend who is ready to be there through the hot seat AND the love seat, it’s pretty f*cking easy to follow your passions. But when you have a whole community of friends who do that AND give you accountability? Well, you might as well be in a GD skyrocket getting there. With those friends on board going to their passions too.
